Set the band switch (for inductance) and then rotate the two controls to minimize reflected power. The knobs are big and brawny, making it easy to operate.
The matching size to the Alinco radio makes it perfect for a grab-n-go type kit. Compact size makes it ideal for mobile/portable/field operation. It does not have a built in balun for random wire/ladder line, but is ideal for most coaxial fed antennas such as dipoles, mobile whips, G5RV etc. It's a well constructed tuner that tunes 160-10 meters. When you do run across one, grab it because it's a real gem. It's not a very common accessory, but available if you look. Physically it matches the DX70T/TH radio in both case/chassis/knob size and appearance. Surprised it's taken 20+ years for it's first review. Affordable compact portable/mobile tuner that tunes 160M too !Īlinco released the EDX-1 manual tuner with the DX-70T/TH hf transceiver back in around 1995.
